What is it you do on a daily basis?
I keep the development team aware of the game issues and player
concerns. I spend most of my day talking to developers trying
to get critical issues addressed and passing out kudos to the
various teams for doing an awesome job. My team also collects
player feedback from the in-game surveys and shares this with
the development teams. We have seen a lot of adjustments because
of this feedback so please keep up the good work.
What is your background? How long have you been with Mythic?
Have you worked anywhere else?
I have been with Mythic for 6 years. Before Mythic I worked for
a company that did outsourcing testing and tech support for
several game companies.
What excites you about the Warhammer property? What makes
it perfect for an MMO? What cool things in the Warhammer universe
do you hope to bring to life?
The fighting of course! I hope that we can bring the hatred that
the races have for each other to light. I would like for our players
to become so immersed in the conflict that everyday events stir
memories of battles.
Do you collect Warhammer figures? What army do you play?
Does your spouse let you display them when friends come over for
dinner?
I have an Army of Dwarf Slayers. It is a fun, simple army to play.
Just point them in the direction of the bad guys and march.
The army annoys most, if not all, of the people I play against
and that makes it even more enjoyable. It is the energizer bunny
of Warhammer armies.
What your key influences when making the game? Anything
besides Warhammer?
DAoC is a big one for me. I love RvR.
What is the biggest problem with current MMO’s you hope to
fix with WAR?
Anyone can level a character and raid. Once a monster is figured
out, it is camped and players wait for hours to fight for 5 or 10
minutes. Having to fight a group of players to reach a final
objective is a different story. The fight will never be the same
and your healer will not fall asleep waiting for the battle to begin.
What are your favorite video/computer games of all time?
What games are you playing right now?
Counter-Strike has to be my favorite of all time. Right now I am
playing the games that came in the Orange Box. TF2 is a blast and
Portal was the first puzzle game I liked.
What music are you listening to right now?
The music playing on the WAR character select screen. Brad is
awesome.
Is there a recent movie you’ve seen or book/comic you read
that you’d recommend to others?
The Marvel Comic Zombie series. It is very good. Kudos to them.
